  1. Any of the Winsockets applications we try to run blast us out of Windows and
  2. directly to a DOS prompt.  Some of the apps we are experimenting with
  3. include: QVT/Net, WinTrumpet, Mosaic, finger, gopher book, ......etc... 
  4. They all fail.  It even failed when we were using the commercial product
  5. from Spry - their Air for Windows.

  7. What is really weird is that we can connect for a while and then wham.  An
  8. example is when we try to do a Telenet session we can connect and then when
  9. we start to type in our logon id's we may even get to begin typing in our
  10. password but then that is about all the time it takes and then wham back to
  11. the dos prompt.

  13. I can Telnet to my default router (a Cisco 7000) with out any problems but
  14. when I try to go to a site on the Internet or even to another Cisco router
  15. in our WAN we get blown out of Windows and back to the DOS prompt.

  17. Things appear to be ok with our routers and subnet IP addressing.  Plus when
  18. we were using Wollengong's Pathway Access DOS or Windows product it works
  19. fine - as fine as their product allows... :-)  This was not by using
  20. winsockets tho... we are using Wollengong's drivers.

  22. We will continue to do some more research on our end - but we sure like the
  23. applications available with winsockets.

  25. I figured I'd send out a quick message to see if any of you have come across
  26. something like this?  If you need further information we have maps and I can
  27. e-mail you more information also.
