- Any of the Winsockets applications we try to run blast us out of Windows and
- directly to a DOS prompt. Some of the apps we are experimenting with
- include: QVT/Net, WinTrumpet, Mosaic, finger, gopher book, ......etc...
- They all fail. It even failed when we were using the commercial product
- from Spry - their Air for Windows.
-
- What is really weird is that we can connect for a while and then wham. An
- example is when we try to do a Telenet session we can connect and then when
- we start to type in our logon id's we may even get to begin typing in our
- password but then that is about all the time it takes and then wham back to
- the dos prompt.
-
- I can Telnet to my default router (a Cisco 7000) with out any problems but
- when I try to go to a site on the Internet or even to another Cisco router
- in our WAN we get blown out of Windows and back to the DOS prompt.
-
- Things appear to be ok with our routers and subnet IP addressing. Plus when
- we were using Wollengong's Pathway Access DOS or Windows product it works
- fine - as fine as their product allows... :-) This was not by using
- winsockets tho... we are using Wollengong's drivers.
-
- We will continue to do some more research on our end - but we sure like the
- applications available with winsockets.
-
- I figured I'd send out a quick message to see if any of you have come across
- something like this? If you need further information we have maps and I can
- e-mail you more information also.
-
- Thanks for your assistance.
